The staff at St Clair Youth and Neighbourhood Team recently participated in the annual Anglicare Christmas Hamper program.

Six team members donated their time to pack Christmas Hampers which will be distributed to needy families this Christmas. The Anglicare distribution centre in Mt Druitt was abuzz with volunteers throughout the day with items such as tinned fruit and vegetables, biscuits, long life milk, Christmas cake, Christmas  pudding and Christmas candy were being sorted and put into hampers while on the other side of the warehouse toys were being sorted and bagged to be distributed in the coming weeks before Christmas.

The team felt extremely privileged to be a part of such a wonderful cause and no doubt to have contributed to someone’s smile this Christmas, even for just a moment!

Christmas Movie night, take 2……

Everything was resheduled for the evening of the 16th December.

Surely the rain would ease, the ground would dry out and our much anticipated event would go ahead….. or so we thought.

The rain just kept on falling, and unfortunately the decision was made to cancel, not postpone, but CANCEL the night.

The decision was a hard one to make, as the team have worked hard putting it together, but we cant control the weather.

Hopefully next year we may have more luck.

From our families to your family, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year,

Let’s hope the rain stops soon.

Family Community Christmas Event…. and the rain came

and the rain came……

After months of discussion, planning, endless phone calls and advertising  we were all set to go.

The lolly bags were packed… Santa had confirmed that he would be taking a little break from checking his list, and would arrive at  Autumnleaf Neighbourhood Centre at 6:30pm

The movie, Santa Buddies, would be watched by families, sitting on the grass, enjoying the lovely spring evening, being enticed by the aroma of a sausage sizzle, and eating popcorn, fairy floss and waving their glowstix.

3 days before the event, the rain came….

The weather forecast and radars were checked constantly, the grass was getting soggier and a decision needed to be made. Our Family Community Christmas Event was CANCELLED.

Thankfully we have been able to reschedule the event for Friday evening, 16th December 2011, starting at 6:00pm.  We will still have the bbq fired up, popcorn, fairy floss, face painting, glowstix’s and most importantly, Santa has been able to rearrange his schedule and drop in to say hi.

So if you are free that evening please come along and enjoy our Family Community Christmas event, we look forward to seeing you there!
